Vitamins are essential for healthy growth and a healthy body. Skin is dull, dry and blotchy when we are vitamin deficient. Eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables is the easiest way to ensure you don’t become deficient in any vitamins. There are also lots of health supplements available but remember supplements should not be used as a substitute for healthy eating and a good diet. Eating a balanced and varied diet is the best way to make sure your body is getting all of the vitamins it needs. If you do become deficient in a certain vitamin take proactive steps to eat foods which are high in those vitamins. It is important to know the side effects of having a vitamin deficiency. You may think your skin care regime or a certain product isn’t working for you but your problem skin could be a result of a vitamin deficiency. For example, Vitamin C is essential for a healthy glow and has a vital role in the healing and repair processes in the body. Some signs of a Vitamin C deficiency include rough skin, dry hair, scurvy and bruising easily.

Stock up on as much fruit and vegetables as you can. Remember fresh fruit juices and soups are a fast way of stocking your body up with vitamins and nutrients.
